• Luton & South Beds Joint Planning Committee have issued a
Draft Core Strategy without its members having been given even
an opportunity to consider detailed evidence reports
• How did the Joint Committee go from its original 13 possible
sites to just 4, including the east of Luton?
• This makes the issue of the Draft Core Strategy extremely
doubtful and possibly illegal
• North Herts are rigourously opposing it
• Lilley Bottom is at least as deserving as the Chilterns AONB
• Loss of Green Belt
• No barrier to Luton urban sprawl
• Not all the options have been correctly studied - for example
West of Luton
• The linked issue of Luton bypasses was not even discussed with
North Herts council, even though it is in their area
• No consideration of any possioble effects of bypasses / developments
on Hitchin
• No proper financial justification analyses
