SUMMARY OF RESPONSES TO FIRST CONSULTATION

 

A summary of the first consultation  was presented by Joint Technical Unit officers to the Luton  & South  Bedfordshire Joint Planning Committee (JPC)  on  23rd October 2009.

 

The highlights of the report were:

 

• 1,452 separate individual respondents submitted a total  of  1,501 responses

• Detailed analysis of the responses did not raise any new substantive issues, according to the JTU

• 5 responses derive from campaigns - for example petitions, multiple postcards etc.

• The KEOLG postcard campaign generated 4,942 individually signed postcards

• The KEOLG postcards are being treated as a single objection, whereas form letters are being   

   counted individually -  KEOLG is mounting a challenge

• OVERWHELMINGLY RESPONDENTS OBJECTED TO DEVELOPMENT EAST OF

   LUTON
